entitled: A Fractured IT

This book actually started as a subset of notes, as a means to keep a diary. One that would allow me to track my professional progress, my checklists as I continued to search for that next opportunity. It also provided me a means to simply work through my frustrations, from one day to the next, as it seemed that Artificial Intelligence took center-stage, became the number one talking point across our Public Media and Corporate America. The more I wrote, the more I realized it was starting to take on a book format. After some consideration, what was the harm, I thought. It is not like I do not have time on my hands. It has been somewhat therapeutic.

What will follow are my professional experiences, my professional and personal observations, as I continued to watch our public media and financial pundits, as I continued to digest our media's newspapers, all while actively submitting one professional application, after the next, after the next, after the next, after the next. You get the point. Since the end of August 2025, I can say, the Month of February, 2026, has seen an increase in Technical Consultant Conversations, Technical Phone Screens, and yes even First Interviews and one Second. My third Second Interview in over 6 months. Nothing yet though. Fingers crossed obviously.

Best of Luck to all of the engineers and others out there, fighting the same fight. May my contextual constructs, my experience, and progress bring you comfort, bring you intrigue, and who knows maybe some hilarity and point of reference. My hope is it will at least inspire you, inspire you to ask your own questions, do your own research, as you pontificate and navigate your own career path and where it may take you.
